Paris To Kyiv’s Fragmenti Remixes Launch Event
May 7th, 2016 (Updated September 16th, 2016)
Paris To Kyiv’s Fragmenti recording was originally released in 2005, a sonic tapestry of ancient Ukrainian song fragments and contemporary sounds. Nearly 11 years later, after circulating throughout the roster of artists on Balanced Records, a remix album has been compiled featuring electronic and avant garde interpretations by Ken F J Gregory, Joe Silva, Rise Ashen, Kasm, J57, Solidaze, Cayetano, Miguel Graça, Trevor Walker and Anders Peterson.
Join us May 14th as we celebrate these dual musical worlds coming together with the CD release of the Fragmenti Remixes. There will be a live performance by sound artist Ken Gregory and performance/director Mia Star Van Leeuwen. Movement Consultant and Choreographer Tanja Woloshen will also be adding her creative talents.
Two short films by Danishka Esterhazy featuring Paris To Kyiv’s music (The Red Hood & world premiere music video of Joe Silva’s remix of Call) will also be shown. Doors open at 7:00, program starts at 8:00 sharp. All ages. Free to children and youth under 18. $20 paid admission (includes CD, download card and light refreshments).
